Chris Knapp

Chris was raised and graduated from high school in the small western Oklahoma farming community of Greenfield. Chris graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Oklahoma State University and began his career in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In 2005, he and a team of likeminded business leaders founded GGW Renewable Resources with the sole purpose of developing commercial-grade wind farms in Oklahoma. The team successfully leased over 125,000 acres throughout the state and then partnered with Apex Clean Energy in September 2009. Together the two companies have built 1,500 megawatts of wind facilities in Oklahoma, including Canadian Hills Wind, which was the largest single-phase project constructed in the state at the time. Today, GGW continues to develop wind projects in Oklahoma, Texas, and Kansas, assisting Apex with the largest development pipeline in North America.

Jeff Spangler

Born and raised in rural Southeast Kansas, Jeff has lived and served in the area since attending and graduating with both his Bachelors and Masters degree from Pittsburg State University. After nearly 20 years in education, and five years in Operational Management, he now serves in Public Engagement with APEX Clean Energy on the Jayhawk Wind project. With a strong belief in bringing high quality and safe economic development to this region, Jeff is excited to work with APEX and help bring long term benefits to local communities.
